Kato Nisi is the second in terms of population village of Elafonisos.

It is a peaceful and quite area with interesting archaeological discoveries and unique nature beauty. Most of the visitors characterize the area as mysterious and authentic.

Panagia Katonisiotissa Church, the symbol of the area was built in 1825 on the remains of an old Byzantine church that was restored in 1928. Frescoes and icons inside the church reveal its history. At a distance of 200 meters west of the church a Mycenaean cemetery is located.

Panagia Beach or Kato Nisi Beach is located on the west side of the island. It’s a long, wide sandy beach, protected by three islets off the coast, the “Panagias nisia”. Cedar trees are along the edge of the beach creating a perfect landscape.

Kato Nisi has become an interesting wedding destination, since young couples choose the “blessed landscape of Panagia white sand Beach” as the destination of their most important day.
